I absolutely LOVE it when people get into the SPIRIT of any Holiday. I would love to see the town or one of the organizations in town sponsor a decoration contest amongst the businesses in town. They do this in Ogunquit, ME and some of the Fall/Halloween decorations are incredible and how much fun is it for the kids to see...... Thank you Creative Studio. View Comment

My sister's kids in VA are assigned Apple Laptops from 6th -12th Grade. They have had this program in place for at least the last 7 yrs that I know of. The laptops are specifically made for students so they are more durable. They have restrictions as to what they can and can't do on them. They may even be monitored by the school. They turn them in for the summer to be refurbished. The parents there also have to pay insurance on them in case something happens to them. If they are stolen or lost, they have GPS trackers inside. I have also noticed that her kids use their own home computers for games. Hopefully, our program will be similar. View Comment

My brother in law went on vacation with his cat in Maine and while they were there, the cat took off. They searched while they were still there on vacation and didn't find him. They finally went home from vacation and came back up on Saturdays just to look around for him. A few months later, he found him in the same area, a bit skinnier, but alive and well. Nobody is in the frame of mind in August to go to school. Start school Tuesday after Labor Day for a 4 day week. People like to take one last trip of the summer around Labor Day. Trade in February and April Vacation for 1 week in March. Kids are going to get sick no matter when you schedule vacation. And we will still be able to get out around June 13th. Take a chance and give it a try!!! View Comment

Take away February break. The kids are just getting back into the swing of things after having many days off in Nov, many days off in Dec.... In the future, just get rid of the Feb/April breaks and let them have 1 in March which gives us leeway for snow days. Feb is too early for a break anyway. If Vacation plans have already been made by teachers, let them go and get subs. If parents have made plans, then let them take the kids out of school. View Comment
