SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Though few voters made it to the polls today, Southborough Republicans chose Tom Tierney to face off against Congressman Ed Markey in November's general election.

According to the unofficial results, Tierney recieved 159 votes out of a total of 246. His primary opponents, Frank John Addivinola, Jr. and Jeffrey Semon, received 37 and 33 votes, respectively.

Only 540 voters cast their ballots out of a total of 6,888 registered voters in town, resulting in a low, 7.84 percent turnout. This was largely the result of a lack of contested races.
