SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Southborough police are warning residents of a potential solicitation scam in town.

Police said they received calls from residents earlier this month regarding solicitors. The incidents, which allegedly took place on Oregon Road and Breakneck Hill Road,  involved two girls attempting to solicit money for the homeless.

Police said  the girls were claiming to collect money for the homeless on behalf of an Ashland Church. Police, however, said the church does not have representatives soliciting money at this time.

Residents are asked to contact the Southborough Police Department at 508-485-2121 if they receive similar calls.
