NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The trial of S.A. Farm owner Santo Anza Jr., originally scheduled to resume today in Worcester Superior Court, will be postponed to March 28, according to the state Attorney General's office.
Anza, 52, is accused of operating an illegal dump site on his property at 429 Whitney St. He is charged with three counts of violating the Massachusetts Clean Air Act, 10 counts of violating the Massachusetts Solid Waste Act and three counts of animal cruelty.
The Daily Voice covered the first three days of the trial. On the first and second day, witnesses described being made ill by the smell of garbage that was reported to have been dumped on Anza's property. On the third day, DEP employees explained why this would constitute air pollution.
