WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — One week after Westborough's Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott was first reported missing, memorials continue to remember the former University of New Hampshire student.
"I didn't know you, Lizzie (sic), but you will forever be in my heart. Rest in peace," wrote Nicole Richard of Northborough.
- On Thursday, at 12:30 p.m., a memorial will be held on the University of New Hampshire campus.
On Sunday, Oct. 21, Denah McDowell of Westborough said she intends to send a balloon skyward with messages written to Lizzi within it.
McDowell has been running the Facebook page and put out a request for submissions last Sunday. Messages should begin with "I would like Lizzi to know."
- A "We Love Lizzi" Sunday service will also be held at Westborough's first congregational church at 10 a.m.
Ryan Tyler, also a Westborough High School graduate who went to the University of New Hampshire, submitted a message to Lizzi to go up with the balloon.
"I would like Lizzie (sic) to know that she has touched the lives of so many people, her spirit and influence lives on in those lives," he continued. "I wish I had gotten to know her better than I did, but in the time I knew her, she has made a positive impact in my life, and I will always remember her for everything she's done for me."
