Letter: Dykema's Explanation 'Misleading At Best'

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Letters may be emailed to southborough@dailyvoice.com.

To the editor,

I am writing to respond to state Rep. Carolyn Dykema’s letter explaining her vote against putting committee votes online. The day after her vote in the House, the Senate voted to put these votes online. Our representative is being misleading at best.

Let me further remind everyone that last year, when questioned about putting these votes online, she said the technology was now there and she would “absolutely” vote for it.

Her filing a bill is nothing more than giving herself cover. During the rules debate was the appropriate time to consider the matter.

Finally, it is clear that the GOP has a good idea she refuses to support it, because she always votes with the Speaker.

Amendments should be considered on merit, not party lines. I’m sorry, but Rep. Dykema is being completely disingenuous and she should apologize to the voters.

Charles A. Garbarino III

Not a mouthpiece, a friend. You should try to understand the difference. It would help you know that I'm not going away, despite all your aliases, fakery, and bad faith.

K Napolitano:

Mr. Roney is a mouthpiece for Rep. Dykema. He'll make excuses for her no matter what. He'll try to change the subject to distract.

Here's the facts - Rep.Dykema lied. She said one thing and did another. She said in the Hopkinton debate she would vote to put committee votes online. She was against it, and voted against it 3 times. She said she would now vote for it. Instead she voted against it.

Here's the video in her own words - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0E66UJ3IPI&feature=youtu.be&utm_source=midnite&utm_campaign=midnight&utm_medium=email

This brings new meaning to the word flip flop. How many times does she break her word. It's habitual.

After she voted No in the House, the Senate voted Yes the next day to put committee votes online. The technology does exist. She lied again.

She lied. She was caught in that lie. Voters hold elected officials accountable. She is being held to account. Instead, she and her minions dig the hole deeper and lie more and make matters that much worse of their own choosing.

It's quite amusing to watch them squeal and squirm.

Clearly, the entire organization that used to be Marty Lamb's campaign has followed along in its current zombie state.

It was always clear that Carolyn required a well-conceived proposal. The Republican Minority Leader could have provided one, but he didn't even bother to walk down the hall to find out what infrastructure was available on Beacon Hill.

Carolyn did that responsible bit of representation, for this act of good government, she's once again set upon by a nasty smear campaign run by a bunch of people who are too thick to learn from a 22-point landslide.

They'll probably give Marty Lamb more of their money, but he's a classic bad investment. That won't stop them from inflicting years of their ignorant ill-temper on the rest of us.

We should all identify them as not worthy of listening to.

K Napolitano:

Excellent letter. Dykam filed a bill that will not turn into anything real. Under the House rules it is a matter previously considered and would be ruled out of order.

This is just a smoke screen. During the recent rules debate, she could have voted for 26 measures to create more transparency, but she did not.

It's all spin by a politician who votes with the Speaker and wants to hide it.

Ms Dykema and her trolls just keep making lame excuses and digging the whole deeper and deeper.

Dykema lied. Her mouthpieces and surrogates who post are lying. They all lie, because they are trapped and have nothing to say, just squirm and squeal about it.

These are facts that cannot be denied no matter how much whining and moaning and complaining the Dykema camp does. They are dishonest and couldn't see the truth if it hit them in the face. They are blind robots.
