WORCESTER, Mass. - National Grid is reporting 1,710 active outages in Worcester County, with approximately 216,306 customers affected by power loss from Hurricane Sandy Monday evening.
The following is the number of customers National Grid estimates are affected by outages:
Auburn: 282
Grafton: 4,562
Leicester: 1,300
Millbury: 590
Northborough: 1,588
Northbridge: 1,937
Southborough: 2,160
Westborough: Over 1,000
Holden: No figures available. After total blackout due to failed transmission lines, power was restored across town at 9:30 p.m.
Shrewsbury: Shrewsbury-based Electric Light & Cable is reporting just a handful of power outages and about 300 households without cable service.
