WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — With power outages still being repaired throughout Westborough, Northborough and Southborough, the Boroughs YMCA has opened its showers.
Cheryl Bertone of the YMCA at 4 Valente Drive said she's seen multiple families for the Northborough/Southborough area as well as Westborough come to use the facilities early in the morning.
"They have been very grateful to us here at the front desk," she said.
Bertone said this is the second straight October the YMCA has provided this service, as the showering facilities were opened to the public during last year's snow storm.
Bertone said as long as the power remains out, the doors will remain open. Those who choose to take advantage of the service are asked to bring their own towels and toiletries.
The Boroughs YMCA is open from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays. The Shrewsbury Health and Racquet Club, located at 3 Tennis Dr., has also opened its shower doors to those without power.
National Grid is reporting that it expects power to be restored to all areas by midnight Friday.
