Southborough Recreation Seeks 'Free Play' Donations

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Southborough Recreation is seeking item donations for "Free Play" days held every Tuesday and Thursday at 21 Highland St. for children up to age 6.

The list of requested items is as follows:

  • Children’s music CD’s
  • Small indoor basketball hoop
  • Indoor slide
  • Indoor kitchenette for dramatic play
  • Indoor tool bench with plastic tools
  • Doll house (wooden or plastic)
  • Wooden or plastic dolls and furniture (no cloth items)
  • Outdoor playhouse for playground
  • Musical instruments for young children
  • Wooden puzzles
  • Board books
  • Homemade Playdoh (recipe provided if interested)
  • Plastic storage containers
  • Bags of dried beans for the sensory tables
  • Duplo Legos for young children

Items should either be new or in excellent condition.

Southborough Recreation will also be holding special Free Play events in February. On Thursday, Feb. 7, families may attend "Mellow Melody," a morning of music and movement beginning at 10 a.m. On Thursday, Feb. 14, local photographer Nancy Gould will attend the Valentine's Day party to take pictures for one-of-a-kind Valentines.
